Broken open
love is a disguise
in retrograde orbit
Like the return of a cool breeze
drowning in summer heat
From behind the frame
the truth is harder to see
The dust of promises
dancing to songs of longing
while the pieces of my heart
return to the season of ice
like hope burying its dead
before setting fire
to my empty boat
