MOVE ME POETRY — A POETRY COMMUNITY LIKE NO OTHER
Fading Softly
You are the stone
that sets the ripple
racing wildly over all
the point of impact
a mere beginning
shattering the calm
disrupting all
reflected in the pool
that is my whole existence
the picture perfect
indiscernible facade
to view it from afar
is to see a transient glimpse
the glassy surface
a mere moment
holding on in time
at risk of sudden breach
a fragile model of reality
thrown into disarray
in the moment
the very second
you trail a finger
across the edges of my soul
lips that barely meet
I feel the rain
and find myself dissolving
sliding silken shore to shore
water colours melting
fading softly into one
distorting with the blow
what was clear, crystal
is now unrecognisable
in the frame
the postcard
once so familiar and serene
turmoil now in its’ place
as you settle in
become a part of the terrain
the mirror settles
clears, relaxes
gradually
the picture reappears
and you are now within
reflected in the old design
