This is a lovely write Aza, the journey from darkness to light is well penned and your imagery is beautiful. The way you close the poem out was my favourite section:

'Since waving that last goodbye to

The malicious and the morose,

The fragrant spaces in which I sleep

Waft with scents of jasmine

Frankincense and rose'
