This is a really nice write Ginger - I have always enjoyed reading poems about clocks and time. There is often a dichotomy between the abstract concepts of time versus the reality of the ticking clock, a kind of countdown which resonates with us humans who are always counting down to something. I see both in your words
'The earth is slowing
like an unwound clock
one percent of one second
every hundred years or so
I felt it, late last night
clicking down into a lower gear'
'there is a dresser drawer
filled with stillborn watches
If I could only find the key to each one
I could rewind'
Thanks so much for sharing with us!
