…that my soul longed to sing
You were the song
that my soul longed to sing
like strains of music
we wound together
the sky was midnight blue
with stardust and rose petals
falling around us
eternity circled in a silken haze
nights were filled
with the sweet fragrance
of purple irises and white orchids
all ebony and moon glow
but now only shadows
forgotten, frequent that room
and one voice echoes
as it touches stone walls
in a dream I awaken
to find myself empty
just as an extinguished candle
leaves the night
